Never Doubt The Father's Love by Dawn

“For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him for this purpose long before the world began – and He did this for you! Through Christ you have come to trust God. And because God raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great glory, your faith and hope can be placed confidently in God.” 1 Peter 2:18-21 (NLBT)

What precious truths we find in these passages. God Himself paid a ransom to save us from an empty life and the ransom was the lifeblood of His Son. He did this for us! What a gift. Easter is the true reason for Christmas! Way back, before the Garden or the world began, God chose Jesus for this purpose which gave us purpose as well! We have been delivered from an empty life into abundant Life as His sons and daughters. What a privilege: we have a Father. He did this work of drawing us near to Him through the price of His Son, our older Brother. Do you feel loved? You are in His family?

Being a parent, I can’t imagine giving any of my children to die for people who would have the choice of being grateful or ungrateful, accepting it or ignoring it. I wouldn’t even want people to have a choice! Christ’s death was horrible and violent and people still scorn it today. I would never want any of my children to suffer for people who would scorn a death that involved mocking, beating, and torture. Not with my child!

“Through Christ you have come to trust in God.” When we truly see what God as a Father paid for a relationship with us and when we see the horror of Calvary and what a price was paid for us to enter into His presence, we should NEVER again doubt that Father loves us! Jesus paid a high price, but so did our Father. Because of Christ’s obedience to His Father’s plans we can now trust in God’s love.

God raised Jesus from the dead and there is NO sin on earth that has power over us. All the sin that God placed on His Son was destroyed with Jesus. He died with those sins but the Good News doesn’t end there. God let the sin stay buried once and for all but He raised the Man up and said to sin, “No more! My Life has power over you because I am stronger than you!” Our faith and hope can rest confidently in God because His resurrection power is stronger than any sin in our lives. Love IS stronger than death. Joy IS stronger than despair. Hope is stronger than disappointment. Forgiveness is stronger than anger. Hallelujah!

Because God raised Jesus from the dead we have faith and confidence that He can and will raise us out of every sin that tries to overwhelm us. What good news! However, the best news is that we are His children and He is our Father and the Son made it possible. Now we have abundant life and a Father to share it with. May this meditation be a reminder to us of this glorious God View: we are loved!
